Sharron "Shari" Rushton, DNP, MS, RN, CCM, CNE joined the Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) faculty in 2011.  She earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa, a Masters of Biomedical Science in Physiology from the Mayo Graduate School, and both an Masters of Science in Nursing and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from DUSON.

She has several years of clinical experience in various roles including staff nurse and nursing administration. Clinical experience includes the areas of critical care, cardiology, float staff and transplant. Her care coordination experience includes inpatient acute care setting as well as admissions for acute inpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing.

Her scholarly interests include translation of evidence in practice, care coordination/case management, population health, interprofessional education and educational strategies. She teaches in the Population Care Coordination Program as well as other programs across the school.
