Social Media Interest Group
An interprofessional group of faculty and staff from around Duke who come together to share best practices and current projects for social media use in academia, discuss how social media activities can be used for promotion or lead to promotion worthy activities, and how to harness social media to enhance interdisciplinary learning.
Writing Boot Camp
The writing boot camp program was formed to establish an interprofessional writing group framework that fosters community, motivates authors, accommodates individual needs and work styles, and tests the utility of funded scientific writing/editorial services. Education Day Planning Committee
Health Professions Education is an annual event hosted by Duke AHEAD, Duke Office of Graduate Medical Education, Duke School of Nursing, Duke School of Medicine, and Duke IPEC. The Education Day planning committee helps to define educator interests and then identify appropriate activities and speakers for the day.
Health Professions Education Certificate Committee
Duke AHEAD offers a Certificate in Health Professions Education & Teaching. This 12 month program accepts up to 12 faculty, professional staff, or fellows from the School of Nursing, Physical Therapy Program, Physician Assistant Programs, School of Medicine, Duke University Health System, and Professors of the Practice of Medical Education to participate. The program is built around the Duke AHEAD educator competencies and the objectives are to support Faculty Development for health professions education, engage in an innovative educational project based on departmental or school need,
produce an environment in which interprofessionals work and learn collaboratively, develop a community of core faculty who could serve as educational resources for other faculty, and prrovide mentorship to developing educators.
