The Institute for Educational Excellence at Duke University School of Nursing invites clinical educators of ADN, BSN, MSN, MD, and PA students to attend the 2019 Clinical Instructor Intensive “Pushing the Envelope to Optimize Clinical Education” on August 2 from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Participants will learn about:
optimizing the student experience
listening and language
setting professional boundaries in the age of social media
providing a safe student experience in class, lab, and clinical
pushing the curricular envelope – what to do with the sacred cows of nursing education
innovations in health education
In conjunction with the Clinical Instructor Intensive this year, the Institute for Educational Excellence is offering a pre-conference on “Integrating Simulation Best Practices” on August 1 from 10 AM to 4 PM to address:
where we are and where we are going with teaching with simulation
current state of the science with simulation pedagogy
faculty development for simulation
student engagement in person and on-line
INACSL standards
Plus, pre-conference participants will get a chance to tour the Center for Nursing Discovery and meet Duke School of Nursing's Certified Healthcare Simulation Educators!
