Call for LEAD Fellow Applications for the 2017-18 program
Apply by Friday, November 18, 2016
Applications are now open for new LEAD Fellows for the 2017-18 program. Designed for early to mid-career faculty engaged in or aspiring to becoming educational leaders, this one-year, cohort-based program provides a firm foundation in the best practices and recognized theoretical models of effective educational leadership that are key to advancing medical education at all levels. LEAD is offered as a national program with four regionally-based cohorts. Created in 2009, as of April 2016, there are 97 LEAD graduates from across the country.
Delivered through a robust curriculum and a comprehensive mix of active learning methods and specific applications to real-life situations, the LEAD Fellows engage as a professional learning community with each other and their LEAD Faculty Coaches through in-person workshops, ongoing coaching and mentoring, independent learning, practical applications, and reflective practice. Learning is also personalized for each Fellow through an Applied Leadership Focus activity during the year-long program.
Participation in the LEAD program provides opportunities to:
Increase your knowledge, skills, values, and practical application in educational leadership within academic medicine;
Explore differences between leading and managing and how both are necessary to be effective;
Develop a solid foundation for continuous learning and practice, based in prominent theoretical frameworks of educational leadership
Enhance your personal leadership style and effectiveness, including applying leadership concepts, principles, and strategies at your institution
Enrollment Details and Requirements
