Duke AHEAD is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Rebecca Sadun as our new associate director! Dr. Sadun is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics and has been an active member of Duke AHEAD since its inception in 2014. She is a graduate of Duke AHEAD’s Health Professions Education Certificate Program and was an inaugural mentor for Duke AHEAD’s mentorship program. Dr. Sadun earned her MD/PhD from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, and then completed her MedPeds Residency and Adult and Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowships at Duke University. Dr. Sadun is an adult and pediatric rheumatologist who cares for patients of all ages with rheumatic illnesses and directs the Young Adult Rheumatology Multidisciplinary Clinic, in collaboration with the Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Sadun also serves as the Program Director for Duke’s Pediatric and Combined Adult and Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowships. To-date, her medical education research has centered around the development and evaluation of a curriculum to teach rheumatology fellows how to help young adult patients transition from pediatric to adult care.
