The Duke University School of Nursing’s Institute for Educational Excellence (IEE) is currently accepting abstract submissions for podium/oral presentations as well as Lightening Rod E-Poster Presentations at the 9th Pursuing Radical Transformation in Nursing Education conference. This year’s theme is Opening Doors to Transform Nursing Education. The conference will take place on April 23 and 24, 2020 at the Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, North Carolina.
PRESENTATIONS
Each podium/oral presentation will be 45 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of dialogue with participants.
The Lightning Round E-Poster Presentations will consist of six simultaneous 7-minute mini-presentations followed by 3 minutes of questions.
ABSTRACTS
Abstracts may describe completed projects/initiatives or those currently underway, and should address creative teaching strategies, new assessment methods, course and curriculum initiatives, innovations related to student engagement or success, pedagogical research studies, scholarly projects related to nursing education, or any other topics that would be of interest to nurse educators in any or all types of programs (practical nurse, diploma, associate degree, baccalaureate, or graduate). In addition, topics related to inclusion and diverse perspectives of nursing education are strongly encouraged.
ORAL PRESENTATION FORMAT
The online abstract submission format provides word-limited sections to address the following areas:
- Title
- Purpose or Goal of the project/initiative
- Background or Summary of why this project/initiative is important to nursing education
- Method of the research study or Description of the strategies used to develop/implement the project/initiative
- Results ... Key research study findings or Description of what was learned through the project initiative
- Conclusions and Implications for Nursing Education
The abstract must not contain any identifying information to allow for a new blind review.

ABSTRACT REVIEW AND NOTIFICATION
Abstracts will be evaluated through a blind review process.
Authors will be notified of the status of their submission no later than November 22, 2019.
The primary presenter for each abstract selected for an oral presentation will receive a reduced conference registration fee. Any co-presenters will be expected to pay the full conference registration fee.
