Speaker:
Denise Nepveux
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an equity-focused approach to remove learning barriers. It offers principles for analyzing and expanding your current teaching methods to be more accessible to more students more of the time. Denise Nepveux is an OTD faculty member, occupational therapist and disability studies scholar who considers herself not an expert but a student of UDL. In this session, Dr. Nepveux will introduce the principles of UDL, discuss ways she has found them both helpful and challenging to apply in her OTD courses, share opportunities to learn more about UDL at Duke, and offer space for attendees to explore current and potential applications in your own courses.
