Stacey O’Brien joined Duke University Health System as a clinical instructor for Duke University School of Nursing in April of 2011 where she taught clinical students in the ABSN program. She joined the department of Clinical Education and Professional Development in October of 2012 and is the Clinical Nurse Educator for the heart center. She is responsible for coordinating orientation and learning development for heart center staff as well as implementation of cardiac monitoring education at DUH. She has been a nurse for 15 years with extensive experience in cardiothoracic critical care.
Stacey received her baccalaureate degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and earned a Master’s degree in nursing education at East Carolina University in 2013. Stacey serves on multiple DUH hospital committees, is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Beta Epsilon Chapter, Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD), and was a Nursing Professional Development Certification review test item writer for the ANPD.”
