AHEAD Steering Committee member and PA Program director, Dr. Jacqui Barnett recently made a trip to Capitol Hill as part of a panel to update congressional staff on the National Health Service Corps' (NHSC) impact on PA students. “The congressional briefing provided a wonderful opportunity to serve the PA profession and to sit alongside passionate leaders to advocate for funding that is so critical to fulfilling a basic human need: access to health care. It almost seems unreal in this day and time that we are still facing and fighting for some of the same access to care issues that existed when the PA profession began over 50 years ago,” said Barnett.
