We are excited to announce the new Move AHEAD on Your Next Article writing program! This program is modeled after Duke AHEAD’s successful Writing Together to Get AHEAD initiative in 2016 and focuses on meeting your individual needs.
This program will launch on September 20, 2021. It is designed to help Duke AHEAD members get started with a manuscript, get “over the hump,” or revise a manuscript.
The Move AHEAD on Your Next Article program will
- help you divide your writing project into structured tasks,
- keep you on target by submitting sections of your manuscript as you go along,
- provide feedback on essential writing tasks,
- and, if you complete the threshold tasks, provide a voucher for professional editorial assistance.
Participants should be the primary author on a manuscript. Eligible projects can include new manuscripts, manuscripts that require significant post-submission revisions, and manuscripts that were rejected and need to rewritten for submission to a different journal. This program provides tailored support based on what you need related to drafting and completing a manuscript.

Participants will be expected to:
• Complete tasks building up to a full manuscript
• Submit completed materials
• Commit to a December deadline for completion of a manuscript
Move AHEAD on Your Next Article is open to members of Duke AHEAD. Registration will be capped at 20 participants. If you are not a member of Duke AHEAD, you may apply for membership at https://redcap.dtmi.duke.edu/redcap/surveys/?s=8pbFne.
