  • Announcement

We are excited to announce the new Writing Together to Get AHEAD program!

This program will launch in mid-January, 2016. It is designed to help Duke AHEAD members get started, get “over the hump,” or finish a writing project.

The Writing Together to Get AHEAD program will

  • help you break writing down into structured tasks,
  • keep you on target,
  • and, if you complete the threshold tasks, provide a voucher for professional editorial assistance.

Participants should be the primary author on the manuscript. Eligible projects can include new manuscripts or manuscripts that require post-submission significant revisions. Manuscripts must be about teaching, learning, educational projects, or other area related to education.

Registration for the program is now open at  http://tinyurl.com/dukeaheadwrite. The program will launch January 20, 2016.

If you stick with the program, you WILL submit your publication by the end of May 2016.

Participants will be expected to:
•    Complete tasks building up to a full manuscript
•    Submit completed materials
•    Commit to a May deadline for submission of a manuscript

Additionally, participants may elect to participate in "shut up and write groups" held bi-monthly. These sessions will help you carve out quiet time and space for writing.

Writing Together to Get AHEAD is open to faculty members of Duke AHEAD. If you are not a member of Duke AHEAD, you may apply here.

Writing Together to Get AHEAD coordinators are Linda Lee, PhD, Marilyn Oermann, PhD, RN, and Megan von Isenburg, MSLS.
