Duke University School of Medicine is soliciting nominations for the Master Clinician/Teacher Award, which is a class of awards to faculty that has been created for the purpose of honoring individuals for superlative accomplishment and service in the area of Medical School/Medical Center teaching. 

AOA Spring Election Nominations Request

The Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor medical society elects a small number of residents and fellows each year who exemplify the qualities of scholastic performance, leadership, fairness in dealing with colleagues, compassion for others, integrity of character, and service to the school and community at large. As you know, membership in AOA is a distinction that accompanies a physician throughout his or her career.

Edwards Receives Award for Excellence in Nursing Education Award

AHEAD Executive Advisory Board member, Pam Edwards, EdD, MSN, RN-BC-FABC, CNE, CENP, has been selected to receive a 2019 Friends of Nursing Award.  Edwards, the Assistant Vice President of Education, Practice & Research for DUHS will receive the Award for Excellence in Nursing Education Awards at the 31st annual Friends of Nursing Gala on October 26th.  The Friends of Nursing awards honor nurses who exhibit professional excellence in nursing practice, nursing education, and nursing research.  Congratulations Dr. Edwards! 

 

 

2019 IPE Excellence Awards

Duke AHEAD is excited to announce the recipients  of the 4th annual Interprofessional Excellence Award for professionals and staff. Congratulations to Margie Molloy, DNP, RN, CNE, CHSE and Nick Hudak ​MPA, MSEd, PA-C.  These awards are presented to faculty or professional staff member who demonstrates excellence in interprofessional education. 

Call for Abstracts: Opening Doors to Transform Nursing Education

The Duke University School of Nursing’s Institute for Educational Excellence (IEE) is currently accepting abstract submissions for podium/oral presentations as well as Lightening Rod E-Poster Presentations at the 9th Pursuing Radical Transformation in Nursing Education conference. This year’s theme is Opening Doors to Transform Nursing Education. The conference will take place on April 23 and 24, 2020 at the Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, North Carolina.

Applications Now Being Accepted for 2019 Certificate Program

We are excited to offer an opportunity for faculty who are interested in health professions education as a career to apply for our Certificate in Health Professions Education & Teaching.

Now in it's fourth year, this 12-month program will allow up to 10 faculty, professional staff, or fellows from the School of Nursing, Physical Therapy Program, Physician Assistant Programs, School of Medicine, Duke University Health System, and Professors of the Practice of Medical Education to participate.
