Member Marilyn Oermann was the keynote speaker at the California Associate Degree Nursing Deans and Directors Leadership Conference recently. She presented "Are Nurse Faculty Prepared for the Roles" and also led a plenary session "Gear Up for Program Evaluation."

Duke IPE Clinic Treats 1000th Patient

The Duke University Direct Observation and Interprofessional Clinic recently treated its 1,000th patient! Duke University schools of nursing and medicine faculty members and students care for patients in this after-hours clinic, which is open four days a week from 5 to 9 p.m.

Associate Dean for Library Services Named

Scholarships Available for Nationally Recognized "Teaching and Leading EBM" Workshop
Three scholarships are available for the nationally-recognized “Teaching and Leading EBM” Workshop, which will be held at Duke Health from April 4-7, 2017. These scholarships are reserved for residents, fellows, and faculty who can bring EBM back to Duke academic and residency programs. The workshop focuses not only on practicing EBM, but also on teaching EBM, making it an ideal educational opportunity for rising chief residents or others involved in teaching and the education of residents and students.

DUSON Center for Nursing Discovery Granted Accreditation
The Center for Nursing Discovery’s (CND) simulation program was granted accreditation by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. The award will be presented at the annual IMSH conference in Orlando on Monday, January 30, 2017. Michele Kuszajewski and Margie Molloy along with other DUSON Faculty Members will be there to accept the award. This achievement was a group effort and one that the CND Staff and CND Advisory Board are proud of.
