2023 Education Day Call for Poster Abstracts

Duke AHEAD is excited to announce our call for poster abstracts for Education Day on 3/24/2023. We invite you to submit using the guidelines below. Abstracts should reflect our mission to advance health professions education excellence and innovation. Please consider sharing your work for future collaboration as well as for scholarly recognition. Posters will be displayed on 3/24/2023 with a dedicated poster session from 8:00 – 9:00 am. Poster presenters should be available during this time to answer questions.

DEADLINE February 10, 2023   FELLOW MEMBERSHIP – Link to Nomination Form  The Duke AHEAD Fellow level recognizes Duke Health educators who are earlier in their careers as health professions educators but who are already demonstrating the potential for major and on-going contributions to health professions education within Duke or the profession.

Introducing the next wave of Duke AHEAD support for our health professions educators.  ASPIRE (Achievement, Scholarship, Perseverance, Innovation, Resilience, Excellence) funds are available for our members for individual growth and faculty development as well as for interprofessional teams to promote wellness during this ever-changing landscape.

2022-2023 Grant Funding Now Available

As part of our efforts to support the vision, creativity, ingenuity, and scholarly work of educators and educational researchers, we are pleased to offer project funding for members of Duke AHEAD. This competitive funding mechanism is intended to provide critical start up for pilot research or funding for innovative projects that will generate new evidence, new ideas, and/or new approaches for improving health professions education.

Applications Now Open for 2022-2023 Certificate in Health Professions Education & Teaching Program

We are excited to offer an opportunity for faculty who are interested in health professions education as a career to apply for the 2022-2023 cohort of the Certificate in Health Professions Education & Teaching program. This 12-month program will allow up to 12 faculty, professional staff, or fellows from the School of Nursing, Physical Therapy Program, Physician Assistant Programs, School of Medicine, Duke University Health System, and Professors of the Practice of Medical Education to participate.

Practical Tools for Cultivating an Inclusive Culture in Health Professions Education: A Regional Event

Duke AHEAD, DUSON IEE, Duke AHEC and Duke IPEC Center are excited to announce our first ever regional event, "Practical Tools for Cultivating an Inclusive Culture in Health Professions Education on April 1, 2022.. This program does include a poster session and we invite abstract submissions using the guidelines below. 

Stress First Aid Training: It's for Everyone

Using the Stress First Aid framework, learn how to identify stress reactions in yourself and others, reduce the risk for stress injury, and promote coping and resilience among individuals and groups in social, occupational, and academic settings.
