Applications Now Open for 2022-2023 Certificate in Health Professions Education & Teaching Program

We are excited to offer an opportunity for faculty who are interested in health professions education as a career to apply for the 2022-2023 cohort of the Certificate in Health Professions Education & Teaching program. This 12-month program will allow up to 12 faculty, professional staff, or fellows from the School of Nursing, Physical Therapy Program, Physician Assistant Programs, School of Medicine, Duke University Health System, and Professors of the Practice of Medical Education to participate.

Practical Tools for Cultivating an Inclusive Culture in Health Professions Education: A Regional Event

Duke AHEAD, DUSON IEE, Duke AHEC and Duke IPEC Center are excited to announce our first ever regional event, "Practical Tools for Cultivating an Inclusive Culture in Health Professions Education on April 1, 2022.. This program does include a poster session and we invite abstract submissions using the guidelines below. 

Stress First Aid Training: It's for Everyone

Using the Stress First Aid framework, learn how to identify stress reactions in yourself and others, reduce the risk for stress injury, and promote coping and resilience among individuals and groups in social, occupational, and academic settings.

Fall 2021 DASHE Recipients

Congratulations to our Fall 2021 DASHE recipients.  Health Professions Educators are often lacking resources needed to advance educational research and scholarship. In recognition of this challenge, Duke AHEAD offers the Duke AHEAD Supports Health Professions Educators (DASHE) program. DASHE Vouchers are designed to be used in a wide variety of ways by connecting our educators with high quality academic services that facilitate their engagement in scholarly work.  This fall, we were privileged to award over $20,000 in services to 9 of our members. 

AHEAD Member Selected as Research Fellow by the Physician Assistant Association (PAEA)

Nick Hudak has been selected as one of three Research Fellows by the Physician Assistant Association (PAEA) and the American Academy of PAs (AAPA). This one-year program provides a substantial investment to strengthen the research skills and productivity of qualified PA faculty to conduct high-quality, publishable research as well as build a pipeline of PA leaders in research. We are excited to announce the new Move AHEAD on Your Next Article writing program! This program is modeled after Duke AHEAD’s successful Writing Together to Get AHEAD initiative in 2016 and focuses on meeting your individual needs.

This program will launch on September 20, 2021. It is designed to help Duke AHEAD members get started with a manuscript, get “over the hump,” or revise a manuscript.
